Abstract The formidable challenge of maintenance of heavy duty equipment for the day-to-day manufacturing activities informed this research investigation. The study examined the impact of overall equipment effectiveness on return on investment in the Nigerian cement manufacturing industry. It focused on the key indicators of overall equipment effectiveness and their impact on return on investment. Ex-post facto research design was adopted in conducting
the empirical investigation. The firms in the industry quoted in the Nigeria Stock Exchange (NSE) were studied. Longitudinal data of 15 years observation (2005-2019) were obtained and
analyzed with ordinary least squares regression (system-OLS). The key indicators of overall
equipment effectiveness subjected to empirical test proved positively significant to return on investment at the Coefficient values a1, a2 & a3 > 0; Prob.-values a1, a2, & a3 < 0.05 and t-Statistic values a1, a2, & a3 absolutely ? 2. These analysis results suggested that machine
availability rate (MAR), machine production rate (MPR), product quality rate (PQR) variables
of overall equipment effectiveness have significant linear effect on ROI. Based on these results, the study therefore recommends among others for top management’s support and commitment to proactive and continuous improvement production facilities maintenance for improved overall equipment effectiveness and sustainable corporate performance of firms in the industry.

Abstract The study examined maintenance cost threshold and return on investment of manufacturing firms. It focused on the impact of direct maintenance cost on return on investment of firms in the Nigerian cement
manufacturing industry. The study employed a simple linear auto regression approach to assess the predictor and response variables of the study and adopted ex-post facto research design in its
investigation. Longitudinal data of 15 years (2005-2019) observations were obtained from listed cement manufacturing firms in the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) and analyzed with ordinary least squares regression (system-OLS). The results of the study showed Coefficient value of 11.10 that is >0, Prob.-value of 0 that is < 0.05 and t-Statistic value of 6.11 that is absolutely ? 2. The analysis results indicated that maintenance has significant positive effect on return on investment. Based on these results, the study suggested that maintenance is cost-profit centre and recommends among others for top management
support and commitment to the use of appropriate maintenance strategies over a given machine condition at the right time, with the right parts and right maintenance personnel as the key drivers of cost effective
maintenance.

Abstract This study examined strategic outsourcing and corporate performance of commercial banks in Nigeria. The decision to outsource is driven by the perception of management on how organization can achieve
corporate effectiveness and efficiency with outsourcing strategy. This study specifically focused on two objectives; to investigate the relationship between strategic outsourcing and corporate performance
and to ascertain the correlation between recruitment outsourcing and corporate performance. The
study used a total number of twenty two (22) commercial banks listed in the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) as at 31st January 2021 in its study. Primary data were collected from the population of the study with the aid of structured questionnaire and data were analyzed through descriptive statistics and the two hypotheses formulated were tested by Pearson Product Moment Correlation (PPMC) with the use of Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). The results of the study revealed a significant positive relationship between strategic outsourcing and corporate performance and a significant positive relationship between recruitment outsourcing and corporate performance. The study concluded that strategic outsourcing and recruitment outsourcing have positive relationship with corporate performance. The study, therefore, recommends that corporate organizations that want to achieve significant performance in their operations should outsource some of their activities that are outside its core competence.

Abstract The study examined cross border investment inflow in palm oil industry in Nigeria. It focused
on the key success factors for cross border investments inflow. Descriptive survey design method
was adopted in carrying out the study while Pearson Product Moment Correction statistical tool was
used in estimating the parameter of relationship between the regressor and regressand variables of
the study. The key success factors that were subjected to empirical test proved positively significant
to palm oil investment inflow at the r values of 0.745, 0.729, 0.796, 0.652, 0.536, 0.866, 0.598,
0.705, 0.720 and 0.35. These analysis results suggested that market size, product demand size, return
on investment, propensity to gross domestic product and foreign exchange earnings, first mover
advantage, palm oil by-product potentials, availability of labour and effective labour cost, policy on
land use, government policy measures on economic diversification and risk-free operational environment
are critical to investment inflow in the palm oil industry. Based on these findings, the study
recommends that to harness the vast opportunities in the palm oil industry like other counterpart
nations that are at the forefront in the global palm oil production, government should gear its efforts
towards having sustainable investment policy framework in this new strategic business area, provide
enabling environment and conditions to boost local and cross border business development in the
industry.

Abstract The study examined the effect of
economic indicators on the performance of small
and medium scale enterprise in Nigeria with a
particular reference to south-eastern geographical
area. The study investigated the effects of inflation
rate, interest rate and exchange rate on the
performance of small and medium scale
enterprises. The research work was anchored on
resource-based theory. The study adopted a crosssectional
survey research design. The population of
the study was 1560 while the sample size was
296. Multiple regression analysis statistical
technique was used to test the hypotheses
formulated to guide the study. The study found that
inflation has a significant negative effect on the
performance of SMES in South-East, Nigeria.
Interest rate has a significant negative effect on the
performance of SMES in South-East, Nigeria.
Also, the study discovered that exchange rate has a
significant negative effect on the performance of
SMES in South-East, Nigeria. The study
recommended that there is a need for efficient
management of inflation rate in such a way to
stimulate the economic growth. Government and
policy makers should try more in regulating the
interest rates and other credit facilities, making sure
that they are accessible and affordable to all SMES
in Nigeria. Also, federal government should come
up with economic policy and regulatory framework
that will maintain fixed exchange rate in Nigeria.

Abstract This study centered on effect of social-sexual behavior
on workers’ productivity in banking sub-sector in Nigeria. The
study sought to ascertain the extent sexual harassment affects the
productivity of the employees. The study adopted a crosssectional
survey research design. The target population was the
bank workers. The principal instrument for collection of
primary data was the questionnaire which was structured in five
point Likert scale. The test retest method was used to check the
reliability of the measuring instrument. The result gave a
reliability coefficient value of 0.771 which indicated an
acceptable internal consistency. Multiple regression analysis
statistical technique was used to test the hypotheses formulated
to guide the study. The findings showed that sexual harassment
increases turnover and absenteeism rate, lowers individual and
group productivity and reduces manager’s time to investigate
complaints. The study recommended that the management
should strictly adhere to rules regarding recruitment, promotion,
discipline, reward and training so that merit prevails against
nepotism because this will ensure that sexual harassment or
sexual demands as a measure for bathe in these processes are
avoided. It was concluded that sexual harassment and negative
workplace romance in organizations can cause significant stress
and anxiety that leads to mental and emotional problems.
