Brief Historical Note, Philosophy, Vision, Mission and Objectives for the Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation Department.

Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation department is established in the Faculty of Management Science at the commencement of the academic activities of this University in February 2021. The department runs a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation. It is believed that the status of the department will provide a solid base for the growth, advancement and development of contemporary areas of Entrepreneurship. The programme covers a wide range of courses that provides students with a general understanding of the basics of Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation and insight into specialized aspects of the course. This programme prepares students for Postgraduate work in various specialties of Entrepreneurship such as Digital Entrepreneurship, Social Entrepreneurship, Business Innovation, Creativity in Business, Entrepreneurial Mindset and Culture, Entrepreneurial Behaviour, Entrepreneurial Leadership and so on.
PHILOSOPHY
The Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) programme in Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation is designed to ensure adequate exposure in all areas of Entrepreneurship as well as other relevant courses. Therefore, graduates of the programme will have enough skills to satisfy the man power need of the contemporary society. The programme also provides sufficient knowledge of Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation, Business Management and Administration. This program creates the culture of creativity and innovation as well as entrepreneurial mindset required to succeed as an entrepreneur. It prepares students for creativity and innovation in any field of business and life endeavours.
The knowledge and skill acquired in the department will help the students to be selfsufficient and self-reliant through employment creation as well as making them employable.
VISION STATEMENT
Our vision is to provide a first class learning environment for the study of Entrepreneurship in all its ramification and produce entrepreneurs of all persuasions both theoretical and practical in the fullest meaning of these terms.
MISSION STATEMENT
To provide courses of high academic content for high quality graduate progammes to all persons and consequently provide the general public with the much-needed high quality manpower.
OBJECTIVES
The main aims and objectives of the degree programme in microbiology are: To develop in students the ability to apply knowledge and skills to solving theoretical and practical problems in Entrepreneurship and Business.
• To provide students with a broad based foundation of Entrepreneurial knowledge and creativity and innovative skills.
• To provide students with knowledge and skills base, from which they can proceed to further studies in specialized areas of entrepreneurship or multidisciplinary areas involving business.
• To instill in students a sense of enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, and to involve them in an intellectually stimulating and satisfying experience of learning and studying.
• To develop in students, a range of transferable skills that are of value in Entrepreneurship.
• To generate in students an appreciation of the importance of Entrepreneurship in industrial, economic, environmental, technological and social development.
• The programme has been designed to provide sound understanding of the concepts and general knowledge and skill of Entrepreneurship in relation to workplace reality which will equip students in employment creation for selfreliance and self-sufficiency for National development.
